Anyone used this mic? I did a loooong time ago and I remember it being really prominent in the mids and kind of rolled off. At the time I think I was blinded by the scooped sounding mics and didn't realize the importance of good mids. Anyone have one?

I found it very colored and hard to eq if you ended up not liking it later in the mix. I used it for a little while then stopped. Just always sounded small, for acoustic/folk/singer song writer stuff.

I really like my Baby Bottle. I may get blasted for this but I often rent a late 70s U87 for various tasks and on some sources the Baby Bottle is almost indistinguishable from the 87. Electric guitar is one of them. The U87 has more reach and realness on most stuff but the sonic footprint is similar.
I like Baby Bottles on drums too but their output is crazy hot so you need a pre with a generous pad.

The baby bottle is slightly "choked" sounding. Which is not the usual way you think of a mic that has lots of mids. Not my first choice for anything but opinions vary!

I passed when I had a chance to score an unused one second hand for $200. I thought it was missing something, a bit flat.
