Anyone have any cap suggestions. Looking to replace the original electrolytics. All I could find in axial 2200uf 40v were generic vishay's, and I would need to shoe horn them in. I have not tested the unit yet, but someone tried replacing one of the caps and lifted 3/4" of trace at both leads.

Don't pull the leads, cut and splice them.

I use 10,000 uf 35 V Nichicon VZ series. The secondary voltage is around 27 volts. The post regulator caps are a pair of 2200/25V VZ's to FR's. Rails are very clean that way.

Thanks guys. I have a Hakko 808, or should I not tempt using it for fear of lifting the traces?

cut and splice, you won't get anywhere near a trace.

It worked out great, thanks! I wish all manufacturers of pro gear would make both top and bottom covers removable with the PCB suspended. Makes working on things a breeze.
