Let's post common amp settings for various things..
Punk/pop punk bass tone with SVT classic and p bass:
Low switch engaged; bass 7; mid 3-4, 800hz; treble 7; master 10; gain to taste.

Marshall Plexi 50 or 100 watt:
V1 V2 T M B P
Channels linked, then 10 10 10 10 10 10 unless you can get them to go to 11

My fender princeton seems to always get set to Volume 4, bass 6 treble 6.
But, I find I have a way of finding out where and amp should be set for its best tone... and do that. Which is basically without being facetious , I turn the bass and treble knobs through their full range and there is always a point where they sound good, vs lots of points where it makes it sound crap or has little effect what so ever.

My JMP only has one setting, everything at 10 except the extra gain stage I had modded, that can swing anywhere from 9 - 10, lol. The amp only does one thing, but damn does it do it well. |

Fender amp with midrange control: everything on 7. Fender amp without mid control: everything on 6 Seriously. try it on ANY Fender amp and you'll hear the true tone of the amp, then adjust from there. |

I generally use the Fender "Magic 6" setting on my AB763 DR clone: Volume 6, Treble 6, Bass 2, Mid 3 More detailed info here: www.singlecoil.com/docs/magic-six.pdfOf course it's gonna depend on the pickups feeding the amp too. But this sounds great with my Tele and Strat. |

Found another setting the other day.
Post hardcore rhythm tone like later Silverstein
6505 or 5150
Gain 2
treb 6
mid 2
bass 6
pres 5-7
vol 2-5
Maybe a Tube screamer with gain set to lowest, EQ at mid, vol at highest for a little more tightness.
V30 speaker in small sealed cab, 57 at the junction between cone and cap, about 3" back from the grill.
