I have Cubase 6 that hasnt been opened in yrs.. it was my main tracking/production DAW until I tried Studio One. After watching the new stuff video I might consider it, some cool features. I wonder how effeciency compares to Studio One. I found Studio One at the time of switching inspiring simply because it was a different DAW to stare at with very little learning curve. I doubt I would ditch Studio One, I would have 2 DAWs for creation/inspiration. Can anyone comment on the latest greatest Cubase Pro running Latest OSX? I know the mixer took a crazy turn around v7? But thats since been resolved I think? 40% off gets me back current at a reasonable cost. Version 6 I liked but wasnt effecient and thats why I explored Studio One.

I love 9. My only complaint is that you can't Freeze group channels like you can in pro tools. (Never thought I'd say that). Ive had a few crashes it I think it was because I was using bluecat au to vst. Didn't crash after I removed that.

Yep, it's a $80.00 discount to go fro Cubase 8 to 9 using UPDATE17 as the coupon.
It goes from $199.00 to $119.
For those who have 9, what make it worth the expense? Been pinching pennies lately to only real neccesities.

Does this apply to wavelab pro as a new buyer or only Cunard users to get the latest and greatest?

More likely 9.5 -- they seem to be on a yearly 0.5 release schedule. And 9 came out July 2016.

At least that's been their release cycle since version 7. Cubase 9 is no exception. It's been released in December of 2016. Also, this 40% off sale is only for Artist and other limited feature versions like LE etc., not for a full version. So if you have an earlier full version of Cubase and want to upgrade to 9, you will not get a discount with UPGRADE17 code.

Hah yeah you're right --- I was looking at a sound on sound article dated 7/12/16, which in Europe is Dec 12, not July 12.

Been pinching pennies lately to only real neccesities. This was a great sale. The upgrade from 8 to 9 was HUGE for me. Mainly getting rid of the Transport and introducing the lower zone, and right side zone, streamlined mixer, basic/general workflow enhancements for speed. Huge. I love it! I also like the Frequency EQ. I am using it as a replacement for Pro Q2, worth the upgrade price alone. Very clean and quick, virutally no CPU hit. Another huge add for me is the Sampler track. This was an egregious abstentee from Cubase for a long time, especially when comparing to Ableton Live. So much you can do with it. Huge. Between updating to Cubase 9, getting a new guitar, and a bunch of new UAD plugins, I feel like I am on cloud nine as a producer/songwriter. What's that Maxell tape thing with the guy's hair blowing back? That's me right now.
