How many out there learned the resistor color code as
Bad 0 Black
Boys 1 Brown
Rape 2 Red
Our 3 Orange
Young 4 Yellow
Girls 5 Green
But 6 Blue
Violet 7 Purple
Gives 8 Grey
With 9 White
Green x Gold
Stamps x Silver
How many still use this ? I know I do all the time .
If you were taught another way please share.
Also I don't mean to offend any one with the "R" word

When we went through Grobe that's how the instructors taught it.
I think they learned it that way in the military.
Man those guys were old and now I am too.

It's amazing though, I can remember all kinds of formulas for voltage dividers, LRC filters, currents, voltage drops, etc, but I went for a number of years doing nothing but SMD and I couldn't remember more than 3 colors of the resistor color codes. Strange, no?

Well it's strange the things we remember and what we soon forget.
My reall job as a lineman is like working on a huge analog circuit . Transformers , regulators , banks of capacitors, the resistors are the miles of wire. Not to mention working on 25,000 volts out of a bucket truck. I love it.
The down side is the all night call outs always in the worst of weather
