I've got a pending deal on some things and might be jumping into a Burl AD...so, I'll have to get something like the Scarlett series to get me into the computer as well as out to my headphones...Really not looking forward to re-learning another brand's software quirks...

I'm wanting an interface that is USB, has SPDIF and ADAT optical. Have to be able to use the SPDIF and ADAT at the same time...

Can I be the first in line to kick you in the balls if you sell your symphony?

But see...I've got them here side by side! That quote was coming from selling my Symphony, going to the Apollo and then coming back...In my opinion, there was a big difference between the DA's of those two...Not so much with the Emotiva. But, who knows...I could do it and end up with another Symphony. It's all part of the fun (addiction)...

Bumping this.
With my current setup. While using a Separate Ross Martin A/D converter I CANT use direct monitoring with my Steinberg Mr816(found this out last night? BIG Flaw in the design. Always used the onboard A/D. buit with my new ADC going in spdif it cancels zero latency monitoring and you also cant use the DSP reverb for tracking.
So I'll either have to record at low latency levels or just get a cheap interface for zero latency tracking.(this is a big plus) and also like to use reverb just for tracking. and while mixing slave the Steiny again to my external ADC and DAC.
Anyone with experience with the Scarlet?, I can pick one up for cheap. maybe this will be a waste of money, but I've always tracked vocals with direct monitoring/zero latency
Will try tonight at very low buffer and see how it is. What buffer size to you fellas track at

RME's software is regarded as the best from what I can tell. I'm trading in an rme piece for my WA76. The drivers are killer for usb on both mac and pc. The TotalMix software is very nice as well.

Its impossible to track with latency. Even at 64 buffer. Just tried it now. If i didn't have a baby coming soon i would have bought a RME UFX tomorrow. Option now is to get another real cheap interface just to get into the Computer, that can track at zero latency. Wont use the converters at all. Or for the time being not to track through the Ross martin and just use the steiny's A/D, and use the Ross martin in mixtime.

Buying and then selling to buy the next thing...I completely get it and have done it over and over. The people i get gear from are like what the heck are you doing you already bought that piece of gear from me.
Your going to love the Burl! Babyface seems like a good choice for ya.
Two pieces I wont sell (fingers crossed behind my back!) Burl B2 and my Console.

I bought it...got it home with the Presonus 1818 or whatever it was and it was just a MAJOR hassle. And I have to be honest, I didn't think the small difference the Burl made was worth the extra money I would have had to spend...Now, if I had the coin to keep the Symphony and the Burl, it would have been a different story...but that wasn't an option. There were just too many drawbacks - I didn't ultimately feel like the Emotiva DA was quite as good as the Symphony (although, it's a freaking steal for $500) and I would be going from 8x8 to 2x2.
