Hi all
I have completed a hair ball audio 1176 Kit
It turned out great and sounds fabulous .

i do have one problem that I hope some one has a answer for.
The ratio buttons operate just the opposite of what the should.
when I push the 20db reduction I get 4 dB reduction. When I press 4 db I get 20 db reduction, pressing 8 gives me 12 and pressing 12 gives me 8, so they are just opposit of what they should be.

i followed the build guide very closely . Is there something I missed?

any help would be nice

If you're going by what's printed on the front panel, Turn the 4 botton switch around. Sounds like you have it upside down.

Are you perhaps confusing gain reduction with ratio? The buttons control the ratio of the compression and on an 1176 the different ratio settings have different thresholds. The lower ratios actually have lower thresholds so you will see gain reduction sooner on the lower ratios. Check out the chart that appears half way through. You'll see how compression starts to occurs earlier at lower ratios.
