I have a song posted up in the "What you are working on" forum... Can anyone think of why someone would be not able to watch it, but watch other videos on you tube? mitchkricun mentioned that it happens on all my youtube videos... I havent heard of this before... but I would like to rectify it... Lets face it its hard enough to get people to listen to your music if they go to the trouble of trying, I would dearly like them to be successful. My youtube play list is Wiz You Tube Playlist
and the video in question is but, he is unable to watch any of mine?? Here is his quote from the original thread Man, I have no luck listening to your stuff! Once again, I just get the spinning circle. Even if I try to play straight from YouTube. I have no problem playing other YouTube videos. Weird. On a brand new Macbook Pro and a 2012 Mac Pro.
Read more: realgearonline.com/thread/6998/life-wiz#ixzz4dDq8qbdYNow this is the first time I have been told of this...I check each video on my iMac, iPhone, iPad, Smart TV... and I know people watch them on PCs and other devices.... Any thoughts? cheers Wiz

No probs here and the spinning circle could mean he has a problem with his actual computer, uncleared caches etc. ? Have you asked what maintenance he does on his computer ?

No I havent... mitchkricun ? But, why would one video play and not another? How would cache affect that? Doesn't seem like a resource problem, hardware problem... if you can watch one video surely you should be able to watch them all... especially on a new MacBook. Could it be HD vs SD? cheers Wiz

Well that is why I think its is his computer, possibly the ISP: why just one video, there are all of of variables ? If its the video everyone should have a problem ?

Could be my browser... Safari. I'll try again tomorrow with Chrome. But what's strange is that after I get the spinning circle on Wiz's video, I click on another video from the list on the right side of the screen and it plays instantly. Same issue with a 2016 MacBook Pro and 2012 Mac Pro. But again, Safari on both. I'll report back Wiz.

it could be that your video isn't allowed in his region (copyright settings).
as a side note, this was a really clever way to get a bunch of us to watch your video hehehe

I didn't change any settings and since I had the same problem the last time I tried watching one of your videos, I assumed there was an issue with the video. Now I have no idea. Sorry.

I see it/play it on my MBP 15. Got some green patches that are bandwidth issues, but that's on my provider end I assume. Audio played fine. Are your videos compressed enough? That might be an issue with streaming. My only issue with Safari is Adobe Flash videos, which don't play by default on Safari. Also, HTML5 isn't as good as Flash or Silverlight in my experience for hassle free video.

Hey Don by compressed, I assume you mean video compression.... the video is output from iMovie to You Tube using the iMovie preset. I assume that handles all that stuff, Bit rate etc... I used to have manual presets set up for that years ago..... have just used the presets in iMovie and Final Cut Pro X for a few years now. It looks and plays fine across iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iMac here.... and once its on You Tube its to my mind, kind of generic video.... I think Martin nailed it with the Slip out of HD back to 480p to get it to play on some systems.... (actual system resources problem perhaps?) thanks for checking it out and passing back the feedback cheers Wiz

Meant to say to whomever it was that was having problems in Safari, clear out your cache...
Click Safari in the upper left hand side of your screen. In the menu that appears, click Preferences. In the window that appears, click the Privacy tab. Click the button Remove All Website Data.... Click Remove Now in the pop up window that appears.
