Trust me.. As bad as that article says it is.. It's at least 10x worse.
It's a culture thing here. In certain parts of the city, there is at LEAST one chicken wing place on every corner. Some have 2-3 chicken wing "restaurants" in the same shopping center. I use the term restaurant simply as a courtesy, because it's just some dude frying chicken wings in a ramshackle hole-in-the-wall, cash only, no register.
One the most common things to see here in the summer, besides pollen and mosquitos, is to see a beat up old auctioned off police Charger on huge rims open up a window and a box/bag of chicken bones fly out all over the ground.

Ya it's bad bro we have more wing spots than liquor stores... Every gas station in the hood has a wing spot. The corner across has a dude smoking out a big grill selling $5 plates ( burgers, dogs, yup chix wings too, beans, corn) Then half a block there will be Atl Wings ( franchise ) and opposite side of Atl Wings will be yup you guessed it... American Deli ( franchise ) and they always have wing Specials Tues and Thursday's... Now on the same road at the next light there will be a strip center with 3 Asian/ Korean/ Chinese places that have wing Specials and Chinese food as well as the local hood spot that Svart mentioned that are on every corner and strip mall.. This will be in one hood like Hollowel ( Bankhead ) for a 2 mile drive...
Each hood is ATL is like this and there is probably 15-25 known historic neighborhoods in ATL. This also doesn't count 285 loop ( inside the perimeter) where again the Chinese style spots thrive every strip mall ( every half a block ) from downtown to midtown to buckhead to sandy springs to Decatur and the airport...
i bet ATL consumes more wings than any city plus our strips clubs are the best and the food is unbelievable... pull up to magic city on a Monday and prepare to lose your mind... dam near 5 star chef and beautiful females of all complexions butt ass naked ....
