Well, I've been here for a little while now and I have a couple of questions about the forum.
First, what is the significance of the color of the stars?
Second, How do I go about uploading a music track? I've got a rough mix or two from the upcoming album I'd like to let you guys hear.

Most people upload their songs to Soundcloud and use the "Insert Soundcloud Track" function at the top right of the row of functions you can use to post.
No idea about the logo.

Soundcloud. Don't they process the crap out of stuff during encoding? I've been avoiding them for ages, was really hoping there was a direct way to upload an MP3 as an attachment, at least. Oh, well.... Thanks... The color of those stars is driving me crazy...... well, a little bit............

Yes SoundCloud reduces everything to 128kbp/s for streaming playback no matter what you upload... you will have to enable downloads and upload the wav file, that is if you want everyone to have a free copy of a single you may sell... You can use the google drive also Johnkenn posts a lot of links where I can play them from my phone.. hope he chimes in jcoutu1 knows a couple ways to post music as well.... they should be able to help... My star color changed from silver to purple recently not sure if it has to do with the amount of activity one spends here posting and replying... IDK

I use google drive. It's free and gives you 15gb of free space. Doesn't do anything to the file.

I assumed it was something like this when johneppstein asked the question, so I checked and found no consistency. For example, right now, Ward has 3,600 posts but his stars are still silver. wiz has 3,098 posts but has purple stars. Is this because Ward is an "Honorary Original Gangsta", so is not recognized as an "RGO Senior Member"?

The Silver Star is something to be quite proud of in military service. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_Star Now, gold stars would be nice too, but something like that would also indicate unparalleled expertise and should be reserved for people like Sinsay, Bob Ohlsson and others who have earned that unquestionable honor.
