Hey guys, My tube preamp design is going well. I'm at the point of designing the faceplate and could use some opinions. Let me know which color you prefer, and if you have any advice on the overall design. Choices are yellow, tan, olive, green, and blue. (Or if you think they all look bad, please say so.) Attachments:

Honestly I'm not fond of any of them, but - I'm not a fan of black with this either. Maybe if you had some meters ..and knobs that had more silver and/or white highlights, then black would be on the table. That said, I do prefer the higher 'values' so the darkest (olive) would be my pick if I had to choose - It's not bad. Do you have any other knob options? I'm not nearly as persnickety as most people here, but those knobs just don't look inviting to me.

I like the 2nd from the top the best... tan? Though it looks more like a light brown to me.

I'd lose the 'paper in oil capacitors' schtick. For 1. Hardly anyone knows what that even means 2. The rest of us that do dont care. 3. It's a fine mic preamp. Let it speak for itself. 4. How about "with genuine 1% tolerance resistors"? Just kidding on the last one but it emphasizes the point.

The color of the top one. Looks like a Sphere color. Black with white fonts would be my real first choice (also a Sphere color) Gary

Tan or silver. Problem with dark colors is can't read the faceplate without a flashlight.

It's my religious symbol, like a Star of David or a cross... (It means I'm "Crewish"....) And these days with the true white LEDS they last almost forever and they're bright as hell......
