When I was a teenager growing up in my small town in the 70's, I thought I was listening to original music when I heard these two songs and many others from white English and American bands.
There'd be no rock and roll without Chuck Berry and a few other African American pioneers. R.I.P Chuck.

RIP kind sir.
He was one of the fortunate artists who had the oportunity to shape the sound of music and follow the ripples of his talents as they impacted both musicians and the rest of us for the next sixty years.
He, as with all the others that passed before him, will be sadly missed and forever remembered.

RIP, Chuck. It would take a thousand words to express how much I learned about rock n roll guitar from you. Maybelline, Nadine, Carol, Little Queenie, they are all crying tonight. I never could get that duckwalk down tho...

The craziest thing about Chuck Berry is he always sounded the same no matter how old he got . How many artists in their 70's still sound like they did in their 20's ? He was like a time warp back to the 50's everytime he played .

Chuck made the guitar a rock and roll instrument, and who hasn't tried the duckwalk at least once?

His guitar playing, and notorious bad boy behavior, certainly overshadowed a great singing voice too!
