I've used the lola quite a bit as my vocal pre, and it's always been fantastic. Can't comment on the copper.

I liked the copper a bit more than the Lola on vocals. Gave a little more of a finished sound. It was close though.... Lola probably more versatile overall. You could also get the Lola with the copper opamps rather than 990s. That might be the best of both worlds... I believe there's sound clips of that configuration on their website.

Does the Lola have more low end ? Listening to the drum samples on their website the copper seems to have less bass . The Lola seems louder overall too . I wonder if they matched the Lola levels against the element mic pres .

Bass is not lacking on either, but I'd say the Lola is a little fuller overall. The bass clips (which I think are mislabeled) demonstrate the difference in low end pretty well. I'd pick the Lola over the copper for bass DI, but both are nice on bass.
Copper is much more colored and smoothes things out -- it can be very flattering on the right source. Lola is super detailed, but bigger and warmer sounding than the typical clean pre.... its a workhorse.
