Hi Guys, I am happy to introduce the new SA-2A MKII. This improves upon our original LA-2A clone released in 2015. Several improvements have been made to ensure an improvement in on our previous one. In order of importance: New UTC A-10 and A-24 replicas by Sowter transformers. Closer in tone and sepcs to the original, these are practically identical sounding to the original transformers. New NOS Allen Bradley carbon resistors, replaces metal film resistors on the audio path for a more vintage tone, just like the original. New 4th generation Kenettek T4B, even closer to the original in specs. New Solen Fast metalized polypropylene output capacitor, improves high frequency response (not on the picture) Same price as before, available for pre-orders, shipments begin in June, limited run. Hi Stam. Will orders for an SA2A through your website now automatically mean the MKII version? Thanks.

What a brilliant product! I am tempted to own one even though I am well versed in DIY! looks fantastic.

Hey stam , Am I still able to able to upgrade my MKI with MKII components? Are you able to post a guide doc? Stam, You stated in earlier posts you would provide info to upgrade the MKI. Other than the posted pictures there has been no replies or info posted. I even emailed you without any response. I pretty much have it figured out. In the picture the carbon comp resistors placement can be seen. However there is a poly cap next to C9 who's placement is not on the P.S.B. How is this attached. It sucks when you buy a new 1st time product to help out a new company and then the new and improved product comes out for the same price and with no promised customer support for the first version. I think next time I'll wait.

Do not replace C9 if you are using both Sowter transformers and Solen Fast Capacitor, only replace C9 if keeping the Cinemag output or the Vishay Sprague Cap.

Here is a video comparing the Teletronix (UA) LA2A with the SA2A MK2 and WA2A

Cool comparison....to my ears the compression sounds most obvious on the warm. Almost like signal is a little choked. The Stam has a nice tube character but doesn't clamp down as hard. The tele sounds the biggest to me, but doesn't quite have that same thickening effect. Just my 2 cents.

"Balls", said the Queen, "If I had them I'd be King!
With that in mind, I certainly will be plucking an SA-2A MKII when sometime after the fall my money tree bears some welcome and sticky sweet fruit. The Warm is wonderful, though the Stam just has that extra little bit of verve that wontonly tickles my verve spot in just the right way.

I love my mark 1, I have a DRIP opto 5 here as well, that has three different attack and release settings, and between the two I am covered for LA2A opto types...
