TNT is the freight company Colin uses in the UK. Once in the US, FedEx or UPS will deliver it from a port in NY or something. TNT handles the import tax/duty. I don't think TNT has a ground delivery presence in the states.

Tell them to stick it. Its a scam. Look it up online. They sent me a bill once a few months later for hundreds. I told them to stick it and they never bothered me after that.
Colin needs to use someone else if they keep doing that.

When I inquired via email what the fee was for they sent me a 4-5 page pdf with all the shipping documents from AML. I did use Paypal so I wonder if I can make a claim for refund if they are indeed a scam.

I would imagine it's a legit service, but how the heck would they collect if you decided not to pay them? Out of the country?

They sent me a bunch of paper work as well. I knew I had already paid all fees on the original shipping. Then they had some lawyer kind of paper work they sent to me. I tried to call the number on that paperwork, it was just some VM. The guy finally called me back, sounded like he was in his bedroom. I told him it was BS and I wasn't gonna pay it. He said Ok.
Had they not tried to stick me for such a high amount I would have probably just paid it.
Look them up online. Lots of people complaining about them.

TNT is a real company. I import a lot of stuff from Colin so can't take a chance on them filing a claim against me and holding my next shipment hostage. There are duties owed when importing. That sucks but it is legit and not much different than paying sales tax when you buy something local. Colin is not responsible for collecting and remitting our import taxes.

I also got a bill from TNT. Not for this but for returning a Soundcraft 6000 master module to Ireland. It was sent back to me by the owner after an opamp fried. I never got a TNT bill from the first time I returned it, I never heard of this company. Now they want $44 for duties on a shipment that originated in Ireland and returned to Ireland.
It was also carefully marked as 'returned from repair' so I suspect foul company operations. Why the recipient was not billed is also strange as I don't live in Ireland.
$900 is also a bit steep for a Nevey kit, I'd rather just rework a Gap or similar and pocket the difference, but that's because I'm cheap.
