I'm not sure how many here have Motherships, but the new BAD8 provides 8 AD's on a single daughter card, list $2699. However, Burl describes it as "Next generation AD conversion", so I guess it's not to be trusted by some because of the sickeningly hyped-up Slate-like marketing.
Also, the BMB5 motherboard has been announced for the B16 only. It allows connection to USB 2.0, so no more requirement for an additional expensive MADI or Dante or other interface.

I'm not sure about the components in the Burl, but it's way out of my price range anyway. I'm considering an RME ADI-2 Pro as my next interface.

The Burl booth is an island of calm and quiet in a cacophony of clamor at NAMM.

Again... tried that route this year... Apogee 16x = ADC CS5381 120 dB dynamic range -110 dB THD+N
NEW TOP AKM 8 ch ak5578 SNR: 121dB THD+N: -112dB ---
5K still in my pocket... gains are made elsewhere IMHO....

The akm 5578 is actually capable of 124 db when ran in the multi channel configuration... The Slate VRS 8 features these converters I listed above... I don't know what the new Burl is using ( maybe a similar chip or same one being 8 channel, Burl = Trafo = $$$ Slate = OPA 1612 op amps = more affordable )

Still... I track with compression on the way in most of the time or minimally I pound the input transformer on the preamp to get some compression... With this a tight somewhat compressed tracking, maybe 70db max of swing at any time Will I even need 4 DB extra noise floor ? They may be slightly cleaner sounding but I am going to smash everything anyway when I mix.... !

130 dB in 8-to-1 mode thats interesting.... 3 db is double the power required BUT 10db is double the volume...
