I can't say with Pro Tools, but I am happily using a Raydat with Cubase 6.5 and Samplitude 11Pro. I have never had a Raydat glitch, and find that the sample-rate limitations of using lightpipe are of no consequence to me. Rme is notorious for having very stable drivers and I have found nothing to refute that.

Second Question.... Cubase 7.5 or Protools 11 ?

Cubase. Not even close.
Unless you just know PT like the back of your hand thus zip around and love the UI, Cubase and Logic outpaced it's NATIVE version a decade ago...and as of PT10, they hadn't CLOSE to caught up, IME. Since 11 require a new format for all plug ins...and some like Slate never got the OLD format fully working...I would think that's gonna be a rough ride for some time.
That the thing--ProTools is "the name" simply because of the TDM hardware that was needed for decades. Technically, there's still a need, they just shrunk the DSP for really cue mixing and plug acceleration now...but, if that hadn't been what made computer recording at a pro level POSSIBLE for a long time, and people got used to the UI and shortcuts--it wouldn't have a 10% marketshare today. It and Live would be duking it out with Tracktion in the "also ran" category.
IMO. Obviously. This forum, I feel the need to state that...even though, it's always implied.

Cc121+mouse. The little touchscreen things miss the point for me-might as well use the free iPad app. You NEED a 100mm fader. Their MCU implementation Was one of the deciding points for me...but, it's way overkill for an artists' studio. It a nicety for mixing all day mainly.

Don't you crave using the knobs on the cc121 for assigning to plugin eq's ?

The knobs are wasted real estate for sure as I use the Cubase channel EQ, um never. Well, next to never. I don't OWN a CC121....I have 16 faders of MCU plus a Griffin "AI knob". But, I mix a lot. If it were just for little old me and my non prolific output, I'd grab a CC121 and be done with it. If you care about being non proprietary, you can get a FaderPort and the Griffin knob. I'm telling you--the "ai knob" is the best thing since sliced bread. I'd drop the fader before I dropped that. It turns whatever the mouse hovers over...so, with a VST3 plug open, you hover the big virtual knob with the right hand--turn the real one with the left--move to the next. Wonderful.
The CMC line is a Steinberg misfire (IMO) of little touch things--I looked closer, I guess they're not technically all touch screen, but they're flat non tactile things with like a ribbon controller for a "fader"....weird, weird little line. There was something I really didn't like about those Avid expensive things (versus teh MCU)...I don't remember what it was off hand.
