45 years ago to the day, Blue Öyster Cult released their debut album. I raise my glass to Don! Rock on, bro!

For a kid growing up in a cold, wet and gloomy town in Northern England the sound of "Don't Fear the Reaper" represented to me some Psychedelic West Coast dream - sunshine, hippy chicks and drugs - 6000 miles away from me.
What I didn't realise at the time was the bands origin was a cold, wet, Northern American town (New York) .... ironic really :-)
Great, great band.

Thanks guys. It almost seems like it was yesterday. When Clive Davis signed BOC to Columbia in 1971, I figured we'd make a couple records then I'd do something else with my life. What I wanted to do after making a few records was become an engineer/producer.
Five decades later, I still want to be an engineer/producer, but primarily as a hobbyist at this point.

Still needs 'MORE COWBELL" Based on my recording career, that's the first thought that comes to mind when I'm working on a tune or mix.

And, if I recall correctly, Sandy wanted to be an archeologist...

Funny, in 1971, I was 16 and had no clue what I wanted. I played in bands though and probably dreamed of life as a Beatle, lol...
