Ahh.. It looks like you've got the 45o roof line thing going on.. As you know, I'm dealing with similar. How do you feel about that? I keep thinking of it as a double-edged sword. One the one hand, it cuts into volume (and makes dealing with space a bitch), but on the other, it gives you ready-made non-parallel surfaces. Maybe not of the optimal variety, but..

My room is probably the worst room of anyone here. Horrible, horrible, space. Here's an old thread with renderings. realgearonline.com/thread/2104/treat-room

Did the same thing recently. The studio was a dark grey with black accents, but I've been feeling the need to make things a lot more bright and lively. Now the drywall walls in the control room are bright white, with white accents.
It seems much more "awake" now. I'm thinking of doing other wall coverings on the block walls.
But the moral is that simply painting the room can make it feel completely different and sway the mood of the artist, or yourself.

Hard to trump that. We adapt and endure....

I've got a large duct chase running across the middle of my studio, reducing the height from 8 feet to 7 feet. Hard to trump that. We adapt and endure.... I did as well, so I enclosed it in a thin drywall tunnel. Even though it's low (around 7ft too), it's almost invisible compared to what it was before. After I did the paint, I'd SWEAR that my mixes are different. Things just seem different, but I don't know if I'm fooling myself, or if my frame of mind changed with the surroundings..

Mine is drywalled as well. I've always was worried about what it was doing to the room acoustics. So, I hired an acoustics guy who told me to put my desk under it and put cloud panels overhead.

Do you record drums in the room? Edit: Ooops. Saw that you're using edrums. I hired an acoustics guy and he compensated for my 8' ceilings in the tracking portion of the room by doing a checkerboard of 2'x2'x2" panels and cheap diffusors.

Ooof. 2 bills for a stand. I'm getting the traps second hand, so I'm not expecting perfection. More worried that the color is going to look dumb with the new paint. Might need to rewrap them.

I just rewired my control room yesterday. That's not exactly a fun job. I had to do it if I wanted to use the new gear I have amassed over the past 6 months. I'm really stoked to have things well organized and all hooked up. Thought I'd share with some of the only people that can appreciate the work. This was before. Moved my Tascam 388 to another room. Not using it. Probably sell sometime shortly. Still a bunch of unracked la4's, 8 raw am16's, 2 601's, a few altec mixers, dbx compressors. Just not enough rack space/cabling. I'll get there. It is much more workable for now though.
