Spectrasonics always had one outstanding feature Fffffast! The 610 makes a Tesla in ludicrous mode look slow!

We've got 2
Great as a snare mult.
Also use it in crush mode as a multed vocal track. Do rides on the crushed one and it can do some cool tricks.
I can't see using it for mastering.

And like Eric said - as well as with the comps, their mic pres are extremely fast and punchy. Unbelievable pres if you can get your hands on one or a pair on ebay. The EQ's they had were fantastic as well.

Unfortunately the days of finding 610's in the dumpster are long gone.

A few of my friends use them on every project and swear by them. One of them says you can use a new one with an old one for stereo and the dif is negligible, if at all.

Just to be clear I'm not talking about the 2 rack space 610 but the brand new V610 3 rack space unit. new design using some of the old circuits. my mastering friend Pete Lyman Swears by them.

The symbol looks like the Schutzstaffel's, oops. However, it is authentic.
