Just out of curiosity, what's the general opinion here of the Adam A7X's?

They're generally well-liked. I personally had some complaints with the low end, in 3 different rooms I heard them in. And, the top was a little fatiguing at times. But, I think the mids translate fairly well and overall they're decent.

Came and went here for reasons stated above.

I've never heard anyone complain about them. Yes, as bowie said, some people mention the light low end... but as long as you're aware, you'll be ok JMHO

Cool, thanks.. I had some a long time ago, forgot about them and tried them again in shop. After all this time on different monitors didn't know what to make of them. Although the listening environment wasn't exactly ideal, probably better in my treated room.

I find them a bit bright and harsh on the high mid/high end. Looking at replacing mine.

In the price range they seemed near the top when I was shopping. I still dig mine. Agree the low end is light. I would like to add a sub, but it's optional. I like the high end because I end up working on it to make it smooth. Mine are not too bright. I always roll a little low end off and boost top end a bit on my final bounce.

One of the guys I worked under had the original A7's. I thought they were fantastic. By the time I went to purchase my own, they had moved to the A7X. I got a pair and had them for about a year before unloading them, basically never being able to get used to them in my space. The top seemed super bright and the low end on them with the front ports just seemed really mushy to me. I REALLY wanted them to work for me, but couldn't justify keeping them and seemingly fighting with them every day to try and get the end product that I wanted.

I've borrowed some and perfectly agree, plus I got some $450.00 coax's delivered today. In terms of clarity / bass definition and stereo imaging these things run rings around them.
