Avid is a Video company first and foremost, MG has shown no interest in video!

I was talking to this manager guy at Guitar Center a couple days ago about Behringer. He says, "Behringer keeps giving me the hot and cold. Sometimes I think, oh great, they're doing better now, this could be great. But then they mess up all over again, and it's back to where we started."
I don't know why but I found that particularly amusing coming from a gear salesman.

Oh, I didn't pay that, but it was what they were advertised at in the mags. They were the new 'dbx killers'.

Sometimes I think, oh great, they're doing better now, this could be great. But then they mess up all over again, and it's back to where we started." I don't know why but I found that particularly amusing coming from a gear salesman. Yeah, GC has its own problems that complicate the situation, but MG has always had the same stocking, lead time, manufacturering time problems. Add in the fact that they use an independent US distributor, Starin ( Note I have known Jim Starin since 91). Nobody as a Customer realizes that a company like, Harmon, MG, QSC or even probably Chandler makes products in batches, they are not set up to make every given product on every given day. Everybody uses just in time inventory and it's a rare occasion that it all falls into place. Everybody uses computer models of the past to schedule production and purchasing, well stuff happens and nobody has a system like the NSA that knows everything and things change. So as much as I hate dealing with Behringer spending time at a place that was a dealer, a distributor of products and some components plus had a manufacturing company under the same roof: I was lucky/ stupid enough to be in the middle of it all and have a reputation for being able to solve problems, I understand the whole situation!

Yeah they were until you put it in stereo mode and found out unlike DBX, the Composser only keyed on the left Ch! I will admit that doing live one offs, I had a period where I held version With the Auto Desser very close to my heart. It was not about how they sounded but what they could do! Even with the small digital desks what the composer could do wasn't available anywhere else for that little $$ and doing gigs where you found out The guy sang opera when he let it fly during performance a Comp before the AD was a must!
