I just got the email stam Here are the details from the email ----------------------------------------------------------- The SA-3A is a faithful replica of the most sought after guitar compressor in the world, the vintage 1969 Teletronix LA-3A. We have taken every step to recreate the famous character and tone and have made it virtually indistinguishable from the original at a fraction of the price by using the same carbon resistors and capacitors found on the original, the B11178 and B111148 transformers by Cinemag and a Kenettek T4B optical attenuator which is identical to the original UREI T4B. FULL SPECS: • Reichenbach/Cinemag B11178 input transformer; • Reichenbach/Cinemag B11148 output transformer; • Reichenbach/Cinemag interstage transformer • Kenettek T4B optical attenuator; • Premium Ohmite carbon resistors as original; • Premium Vishay/Phillips capacitors as original; •True to the original 1969 LA-3A schematic; • Matched transistors; • 1.5ms attack time or less; • Less than 0.5% THD; • XLR input; • XLR output; • Stereo Link; • Voltage switch selector (115V or 230V); • Internal toroidal transformer; • Dimensions: 3.5” vertical (2RU), 8.5" horizontal, 9.25” depth / 8.89x8.32x23.5cm • Weight: 6.5 lbs / 2.95 kg • Final assembly by hand in Chile; • 1-year warranty; • 30-day money back guarantee Shipping date is May 2017. -------------------------------------------------------------------- cheers Wiz

I've often seen the LA3A mentioned as a particular producer's favorite vocal compressor. I believe some of Adele's big hits were done with it on vocals.Say you have an LA2A and an 1176, where would the LA3A fit in?

It seems like people love the 3a on guitars. I have used the uad version quite a bit for this.
Oh and Joshua is killing me. I don't know how long I can keep this up. I'm still waiting and trying to get money for the 1073...... Ahhhgggggg.

I've owned my Urei LA3As since the early 1980s. I traded a pair of DBX 160VUs for them. Even though I owned 1176 D versions, The La3As were my go to compressers for vocals and guitars. Famous mix engineers would come in and use them on kick and bass too. A Neumann U87 ( battery compartment ) into the harrison console preamp, into an LA3A was the main vocal chain for many years. Even though I now have many mics, pres, and compressors, I'll still use that chain today.

I believe some of Adele's big hits were done with it on vocals.Say you have an LA2A and an 1176, where would the LA3A fit in? They are fantastic on vocals, acoustic guitars, both electric and upright bass, etc I was thinking about the serpent Kit - now these come along...

Looks great! Although doesn't Serpent Audio call their LA-3A clone the "SA-3A" as well?
So who is making the stereo rack mount kit?
I guess no "Mod" or "30/50" switch huh?

Yeah the timing sucks. Worst thing about an LA-3? It looks lonely with that 2u high 1/2 rack space hole in your rack so you gotta buy 2!

You guys are fast!
The SA2A weighs 6.5 kilos The SA4000 weighs 5.5 kilos The SA3A weighs 3.5 kilos, maybe 4 with boxing.
Shipping should be cheaper on this one, right now it would be 70 dollars to the US.
I have given myself plenty of time for this one, I will probably have them ready earlier than May but I rather bee early than late.
I will be me announcing more products soon, I have put together a team with a much larger output capability than before and with a better quality control as well, hopefully this will translate into better customer service, no delays and flawless products.
