Just ordered probably my final pair of LC53A kits, will probably go for another Don Classics U76 and a stereo 1176 soon, but what after that? 2014 could turn out to be a very long year without more kits. Jeff (or Brian), I know you've commented on a 527 comp at GDIY and that there's already PCBs available (hmm well kind of...). But it would be SO nice if you could do a full kit instead. How about LC27 or TB27? I'd be all over it. Anyone else want to help me trying to persuade Mr Steiger or Mr Horvitz?

I agree more complete kit options for compressors will be a good thing. I just ordered two of the LAZPro comps over at GroupDIY, however I fear I may be in over my head with those. I am not experienced enough to do a build of a "kit" that doesn't come with all of the parts and step-by-step instructions.

Well, as has been discussed a few times over on GDIY and FB, this is Peter's territory. He's a good guy and a friend and I sure won't step on his feet. Having to order some parts and figure stuff out makes for a little better DIY adventure! If someday Pete discontinues his forever, then you can pester me about it. Always open to other ideas, though

horvitz Thanks Brian! Hmm, fair enough, but I'm kind of scared of the man, just by reading the 525 thread And judging by his signature on GDIY, he probably won't sell the kit to me anyway. But I noticed today that Eliani at GDIY is doing a build report so, who knows..

JMO, Here's the thing, i'm totally at the point where i want to get back to creating and recording music, long drawn out diy projects are starting to bum me out a bit. Peter is a funny/cool guy, but i've shy'd away from his projects also, i am a newb, but i'm far from a beginner, and not easily intimidated(his projects do intimidate me), but i'm also accepting that i will never be as smart or as qualified as most of the guys at groupdiy, unless i go back to school and take electronics courses for a few years?... I've done, or am doing about 100 diy projects since last year, talk about bitten.. lol, there does seem to be a big hole in the well documented diy api compressor area, i'd love to build a few, but i need the assurance and confidence, that i will achieve my end goal of a functional piece when i'm spending well over $200. With capi projects, hairball, vintage microphones, serpent, drip...etc, i know i'm supported, The TB audio 550 is on my radar, as i know Brian's more than helpful exp/reputation proves i will get it done, also i'm building the bluzzi ez 1084's that are tremendously documented, Jeff's capi documents are also golden, as far as support, he's responded to some of the stupidest questions ever asked(by me of course)in a totally cool, un intimidating fashion(not that peter would do that, he just seems like it's not that important to him?, to be clear, Peter is a friggin genius, and funny as heck, nothing but respect for him..) TB and CAPI both sell eq's in the 550 vein, i think the api compressor needs another kit provider as a friendly counter part to peters rig?.........Brian......8) there is some hope of a good build doc/thread brewing on peters 525... I'll keep my fingers crossed

I'd like to see a simpler, less featured version. I don't care for expensive switches and such. I usually set things and forget them anyway. Pete's kits are nice, but a bit pricey to begin with and then there is shipping.. and gathering parts usually costs more than it should due to sourcing from so many places and paying shipping from everywhere too.

Pete is a friend of mine so I would not go down that road. Besides, I have a gazillion other things on my plate already!
