Let us know how it goes. I've often thought about making the Cubase jump, and this release looks pretty sexy.

I'm building a new track in Cubase 7.06 right now...and I have to say, I'm really enjoying it. Haven't gotten to vocals yet...but so far, Cubase with PTs key commands has been a great experience.

Btw - any real reason to upgrade? Don't really need magneto.

I watched the video. The only thing I saw that I thought was a step forward (from my lowly v6) was the arrange window track view. I end up with a bunch of disabled tracks I throw in a folder....I want to keep them part of the project in case I need them...but, would love to just hide them from view.
....but, mostly, like the 7 upgrade...I think I'm done. They're headed down the road of music creation software, rather than audio recordings/mixing application. Much like Logic did years ago...and ProTools is now headed...this trend scares me. There's nothing wrong with musical sandbox apps...but, someone needs to continue to make an actual engineering based application. I chose Cubase because of what Apple has done to Logic...and the bugginess of ProTools non HD software...make me wary of moving forward. I've considered buying up cheap HD Accel rigs to run PT10 on. Buy TDM versions of the plugs I like while they're still available...buy a second system as backup. The music creation suite thing is just a different audience.
New versions like this kind make me want to go out and build the biggest baddest Win7x64 box I can....install and configure my v6 while all of that is still viable on new hardware...with some 16x32 IO...and simply make all future purchases analog, since there's nothing more they're doing for sonics. I rely on third party plug ins for every thing I do in Cubase--other than gating/expansion and Apogee dither. So, the idea that they don't have some work to do on sonics, is absurd. It's that the new audience doesn't care...and people like me already own third party workarounds. But, can you imagine the app building Slate VCC and Waves Console collection into the UI? Switch the channel over to Neve or API--and the built in channel changes? Being able to define not just the pan law but the non linear summing models of the mixer on the project? How about simply having a makeup gain on the channel EQ? Linear phase EQ? M/S? C'mon. iPad as plug in control--open a plug and it goes maximized to the ipad screen where you can manipulate it...I could come up with improvements all day for audio production workflows and sonics....but, instead we get new versions of Halion and chord tracks and loppmash effects--don't forget the new EDM midi libraries!! Yay!!

Finished tracking a tune last week in 7.06. Big track with 60 channels. Started mixing and then installed 7.5 last night.
Magneto 2 is not too bad. Used it. Very light on CPU. Also there is a new reverb. Havent tried it yet. Like the track Visibility.
This particular project took quite some time to open in 7.06 where as in 7.5 it opens alot quicker.
I like the update. But as i said it was free for me. As i was still in the grace period
