Izotope rx5
Is it just me or were the deals better last year? I remember being blown away at how cheap I was picking stuff up on Bf last year and this year I couldn't justify getting mich of anything.
Probably a good thing!

I remember being blown away at how cheap I was picking stuff up on Bf last year and this year I couldn't justify getting mich of anything. Probably a good thing! Maybe, 2 possibilities: 1. Buissnes is good, no need to give it away to pay bills. 2. Plugins and pro audio are not much of a "gift market" so the expense of publicizing a deal may be a bigger cost than the cash generated by a sale. The other possibilities, Only the big guys are really set up for a manufacturers sale, and even then the mechanics are messy (ask RJR) , more plugin vendors understand direct sales pisses off dealers, customers are beginning to understand a phone call might get you a deal on what you really want rather than buying the published deal.

Does anybody buy plugins from a dealer? The only time I've done it was when we updated all 3 rooms at the studio I work at, and it's because we got a pretty decent discount for spending somethibg like 15k with Waves.
For home use, it's always been a direct sale off the manufacturers website.
I've never purchased a piece of hardware online without calling up the conpany first and talking to a sales rep. For whatever reason they will work with you more that way. Especially people like vintage King or sweetwater. I guess there is always a bit of wiggle room depending on how much you use a certain company.

Simple, online price falls under published MAP advertising, you can sell it for what ever you want in most cases.

Didn't buy anything, no money.
Was looking for good deals on guitar strings, couldn't find any. When GC used to have killer deals on 12 set bricks I used to pick up 4 dozen or more sets of both electric and acoustic at a time, but the new ownership doesn't seem to do that anymore... Stupid, because it always got me in the store - now I check the ads and don't bother.

Sat it out here. Need to be more on the sales side of things than the buying side currently.

Eventide Anthology X upgrade here. REALY cheap since I already had 4 of the single plugs... Unfortunately, still haven't been able to use it. Waited a week just to get the license. But, what really sucks is because I recently had my Macbook's motherboard replaced by Apple, I've lost my damn iLok authorizations (even though I'm still using the same hard drive). Now, when I try to upgrade to Anthology, it asks me to relinquish authorizations I can't even access any more and I'm stuck. Got a reply from Eventide this morning but I quickly responded and they've yet to get back to me. And, since it's Friday and now after 5pm, I probably won't hear anything until at least Monday. Arghhh, I f**king hate iLok...

Stupid, because it always got me in the store - now I check the ads and don't bother. Weird....GC ran 12 paks of Daddario (electrics only) for $25, which is about amazeballs. I hung it on the fridge to remind myself to go, but I couldn't bear the thought of that madhouse to save what $10 of regular? So, since I was on the phone with Sweetwater, they price matched a 10 pak from Amazon.... I got Ivory's American D and the second Fairfax kit for AD2. FWIW.

Waves API 2500, wanted Arousor but it was out of my budget. I was not enticed by many deals this BF/CM week.
