Hello Guys, Since I could not find a singer around and time is not on my side I decided to sing myself and do a little video on the SA87 which is our Neumann u87 clone. The idea behind this take is to show how the microphone sounds using stock preamps on a modest interface in an untreated room. It uses a US handmade capsule by Eric Hesierman (HK-87), a D-87 pcb by Dany Bouchard (rev 16) and a Sowter or Cinemag output transformer. Vishay and Polystyrene capacitors as well. I apologize for the lack of talent, I am not a singer. Hopefully this is useful to some of you. More info on www.stamaudio.com

More info on www.stamaudio.comIf you'd like to send me a demo of your SA87, I'd be happy to make a video with it and send it back. I can also toss it alongside my U87AI in the video. Just a thought. www.eandventertainment.com

I would be happy too.
We already did a shootout against the U87ai and vintage 87, people liked our version better on the purple forum. Particularly on female vocals.

I would be happy too. We already did a shootout against the U87ai and vintage 87, people liked our version better on the purple forum. Particularly on female vocals. I found 2 shoot outs on the purple page. I think the mics sound pretty close and the differences are negligible once you add a little EQ. I listened to them blind and preferred the SA87 on the female vocalist and the U87AI on the male vocalist. Would love to try it out verses my U87AI and my modded Studio Projects C3. I'll PM you. A little about me, I've been a studio vocalist for years, usually providing a very specific kind of operatic/traditional Broadway style vocal. I have a big, lyric tenor voice. I'm probably best known for my work with Christopher Lee on both his Charlemagne Albums as Young Charlemagne. "I shed the blood of the Saxon man!"
