Any of you guys compared the Weight Tank to the Grove Hill Liverpool first hand? Both seem cool... But not much feedback around on Grove Hill on RGO. For what it's worth, the WT is handmade in the USA and the Liverpool is mass produced in China. That swayed my decision a bit.

Hey, hey Guys! Hoping you are all doing well. I wanted to drop by and let you know that the Weight Tank Compressor Rev. B is now available. A few small changes have been made and now I am laser engraving the front and rear panels in-house! Check it - So much fun! http://instagr.am/p/BlZbHHCFpSg
Another exciting new feature is the pricepoint. In order to stay competitive with the "Clone Kings," the Weight Tank Rev. B is now $899. I think that's about what an LA-2A clone costs these days, right? My units are all made right here in St. Louis, MO in small numbers. I believe this is the best available value for a vari mu compressor and if you are looking for something a little different that will have a big impact on your sound, check this new baby out. :-) REV. B vs REV. A-4 dB higher output at threshold of compression -Drive mode offers a touch more harmonics/saturation -Lower ratio ( Rev B: ~3:1 vs Rev A: ~4:1) -flat black powder coat! for you nerds, its call Solar black from Tiger Drylac. Its awesome. -new faceplate design -calibration is on inside of unit and makes for less confusing front panel -PCB instead of hand wired USA orders are direct from weighttank.com. Outside of the U.S., please see the dealer list. Thanks for your 3 seconds of attention... carry on! Attachments:

Both of mine are in constant rotation.

I'm finishing up a punk record that had the weight tanks on bass and vocals. Tracking is complete, mixing now, should be out soon. Great units.

Any new WT users? How's it been, I have one in the "add to basket" phase...

Any new WT users? How's it been, I have one in the "add to basket" phase... All of my recent posts in the what are you working on section have the Flea 47, Weight Tank preamp, and Weight Tank Comp in the vocal chain.

Just plugged in my new Weight Tank WT-COMP--what a beautiful machine in every way. Hard to believe that the musicality/quality can be had at this price.

You guys who bought the pre: still digging it ? Mostly using for vocals or what are your main uses?
Thx!

You guys who bought the pre: still digging it ? Mostly using for vocals or what are your main uses? Thx! Love the pre. Love it on virtually anything. More open on top than a Neve. Richer midrange than an API.

You guys who bought the pre: still digging it ? Mostly using for vocals or what are your main uses? Thx! Vocals and flute. I would use it for violin easily. I need to try it on mandolin soon, where I expect it to be great. I would not use it on grand piano, unless it was a bright Yamaha C7, but not my dark Steinway - where I like a forssell type pre.

You guys who bought the pre: still digging it ? Mostly using for vocals or what are your main uses? Thx! The pre is great. It’s one of those pieces of gear that seems to get better and better the more you grow with it. I use it on some vocals, as a bass DI, on kick drum, and it’s amazing on acoustic guitar. But really it would work on just about any source. Given its look and name one might think that the WT 72 is some sort of dark mojo, retro pre, whereas it’s really a high fidelity pre in the best sense.

Very happy for u, I am sure you will love it. Ooooo how I wish that was my new WT Comp haha. Too bad my $600 stimulus says “ Payment Status- Not Available “ 😦🥴 or I would be closer to getting one after 4 years of saying I’m going to buy one 🤦♂️ Will be that much sweeter when I finally do get one.

Thx, could you contrast with a Helios? I've never used a Helios in real life, so I'm hesitant to venture a direct comparison. To go back to a Neve 1073-type comparison (as that's a sound most of us are familiar enough with and have used various flavors of), you know how a Neve can just be too much sometimes? I mean, it can have too much low end push or too much transient fuckery sometimes? The WT-72 just doesn't have that. It's balanced, but rich. It works in a broad array of contexts (for me). As much as I love a Neve or API sound, if someone told me I could only use one preamp for the rest of my life, I would very strongly consider the WT-72, or any V72/V78-style preamp. Having 8 of them would take up a lot more room than a Lunchbox full of APIs, though...

Thx, could you contrast with a Helios? I've never used a Helios in real life, so I'm hesitant to venture a direct comparison. And we appreciate that. There's allegedly another rumored forum on the internet where it is common for folks to wax poetically (at length) about gear they've never used. I don't know where it is though . . . I've uh, lost the address.

Yeah -- in fact, they had tube-gear running through their heads!
