If you consider that the M7 has the computing power of about 10 core 7 Intel processors, I'll let you all figure that claim out.

I've heard good things about the plug. It's not algorithmic like the M7 so it doesn't NEED the processing power that an M7 does. It's working off of IR snapshots with some modulation cleverly added after the fact. So, actually pretty intriguing. But certainly it won't have the depth of programming that a real M7 has.

Unless slate is actually paying bricasti for the rights to copy their intellectual property, how is this any different then someone stealing parts of your song and claiming it as their own? This is not simply directed at slate because this "borrowing" happens all the time. But certainly the M7 has not entered the public domain yet. Fwiw, I do not own an M7 but wish I did

this offering has Casey's blessing. At least publicly.

Also the Slate partner Liquidsonics who delvoped this with Slate ,has had fusion samples of the M7 for some time with Casey's permission . and according to Liquidsonics they are the same m7 samples in both products.

I guess it is easy to give this permission to use samples, IRs etc.. Actually i think it is even a good marketing. The emulations can not come close enough to sound as good as the original algorithmic box, but give a general impression of a sound. I have a couple of Bricasti IRs that i use, and while they sound pretty good, they are not as good as what i hear from clips processed by the hardware unit in comparison. Although i can not afford the hardware unit, i must admit i want it more since i use these IRs. So this works as a buying argument for the hardware unit, most probably for other people, too.
