I love my tg1. the thd is great on bass and Vox etc. although it's not gonna go crunch, I.e. you don't need a mix knob. This thing rules for noticeable drum comp and limiting. Gets some really thick push pull sounds. Often quite noticeable even at low gr amounts in either mode. For vocal compression it's not my first choice but still gets used as It's pretty flexible. Run serial and do comp into limit or thd into comp or any variation of. The time constants are all nice and quite different from each other. You get a different set of t.c. In both comp and lim. modes. This box can be transparent, but usually I'm using it because I want what it is offering otherwise. I think most all compressors sound cool on drums if it's what you are into. so to say a stereo limiter sounds good on the drum buss is like saying an iphone is great for phone calls. Well, I would hope so! But it does sound good on the drum buss and in it's own unique way. Mine's not going anywhere unless a zener falls in my lap.

Zener guy here! Sorry, I have been really busy and haven't been on much lately. I am using it a lot on drums. I have been printing my drum buss twice. Once with the THD happening and then once with compression. Then, I can take both printed drum buss tracks and blend for final mix. It allows me to get the drums aggressive and not go too far for my tastes. About anything I run through it sounds bigger and more full even if I'm not hitting it but just a db or two.

All Chandler gear sucks, so I will buy it off you for really cheap!!! spock may be too humble to brag, but I'm not. In addition to recreating the finest examples and aspects of the EMI gear used by the Beatles, Chandler is revolutionizing the recording world by giving it a 4th legitimate option in tone and dynamic control. 1. Neve 2. API 3. Super-clean stuff 4. Chandler And they need more people like ericn and I preaching the good word, which is why we're looking for the $250 and $500 deals at next year's NAMM. Ok, Adam?

At $4960.00 this is serious money. I have three stereo/duo mono compressors-the API 2500, the Smart C2 and a linked pair of Distressors. Can anybody argue the case that I'd be better off selling off what I have and buying a Chandler and doing a lot of pre mix bouncing?
