I liked the first one a lot. Really good for resonant frequencies. Only problem was you couldn't get the Q small enough. Maybe this one is different.

I grabbed the full version on the intro offer from dontcrack's private offer zone at $116.
I've got the code in my Focusrite account for the limited 3 band version also but the full one was worth the expense IMO.

I really look forward to seeing the SoundRadix guys at AES. They've got a very bright group. The UI on the new Surfer EQ is really lovely and quite responsive.

Just wanted to give props to Surfer EQ...This thing has fixed issues that no other EQ has. My only complaint is I wish the Q could get smaller.

I have soothe and do not have Surfer, but I watched the SEQ2 video and I think I have a pretty good idea of what it does. The only thing that I see is the similar is that they both make decisions based on an analysis of the material. Of course, SEQ2 has a LOT more functionality. For starters, SEQ2 is a fully functional standard EQ; you can pick a frequency, bandwidth, curve type, etc., and from there it's functionality looks to be pretty amazing. On the other hand, soothe is a one trick pony that applies only subtractive equalization, and only in the context of what the program is capable of analyzing. As far as I can tell there's little to compare. soothe is capable of making what amounts to independent cuts simultaneously across the entire frequency range of program material, where SEQ2's algorithms are based on fundamentals and harmonics. I think a better question might be, "Even though SEQ2 doesn't do what soothe does, can it get the job done a different way?" I'm inclined to say yes. That video is damn impressive.
