So, this well known defense lawyer in my city is up on his THIRD DUI in about 3 years. He's beaten the system twice before and expects to do it again.
Know any scumbag lawyers in your home town?
I make no wonder that few of us trust the legal system.

Sounds like he's a damn good lawyer Every time I hear about a damned good lawyer and drunk driving (drink driving, if you're wiz) I can't help but get a little angry over all those who've been killed by drinking and driving.

I wonder about this all the time. I drink and drive every time my wife and I go out to dinner. We split a bottle of wine. I wonder how close I am to .08, but I am hardly drunk and have done it hundreds of times with no problem.

Every drink within an hour or two gets you .0011, if you're an average male of about 6' and 180-200 lbs. so, to get to .08 means you need at least 7 drinks in your system and then keep knocking them back hard.
It takes a lot of work to fail the breathalyzer, blood alcohol test or any other sobriety tests.
In this case, the lawyer in question must have had 12 or more drinks in a two hour period and 2-4 every hour afterwards. He was inebriated. Pie-eyed. Loaded. BLIND drunk. And got behind the wheel.

I once took one of those after-market breathalyzer tests about an hour after what is probably the equivalent of a bottle of wine (or perhaps more) at a wine tasting and clocked in at .08 - I would say .08 is pushing things. I could have driven home, but I would have been uncomfortable. I think I waited an hour or so and drank a lot of water before leaving. I'm drinking less and less these days when I go out, (and go out less) and get my wife to drive if I've had more than 1 drink. I'm aware that I am part of the culture of alcohol, but I love my red wines.

I have never had a drink and hopped behind the wheel, add in the fact these days there's already enough I already have enough legal narcotics in my system to fail any drug test and it would just be plain stupid!
