sorry total geek thing... Voice over IP over the internet with no Quality of Service (QoS) makes for bad communication. I was relating that to the horrible way I interpreted your thread.

BADAAX is badass ROFL I thought about taking them off but I'm all go no show here... These Mics are world class killer and built just for me so if someone is lucky enough to get in my studio and they have brand identity issues go elsewhere. LOL

Would love to hear clips.
Here's an example of a 67 slaying the competition.

That P-pop filter is about worthless and both mics should have been high passed at 80 to get rid of the terrible plosive thumps in this video. While the 67 does sound better on him, I wouldn't say it slayed the CV-4 IMO. I actually like the clearer top of the CV-4 and the warmer bottom of the 67. The CV-4 is more sibilant because of it's more open top. We are also shooting out mics that are way far far apart in financial range. Nice 67's are going for $15,000+ now whereas a CV-4 list at under $1600.00. Even with mods from Shannon, you can have 7 CV-4's for that.

The 67 sounded a little better to me, but they are separate vocal takes.. He's not wearing cans, and is all over the place on those mics. He's got those things right on the sound hole when recording the guitar. Nothin's working for me in terms of evaluating things.

If I were to say "right in yer sound hole!" would you think I'm talking about your mouth or your ear?

Cool! So are these mods? What did these start out as? Inquiring minds want to know. Just Apex 460's, Some caps replaced (SoZo) and NOS tubes and Shannon's amazingly tuned capsules as the foundation... all housed in super sleeper bodies LOL.

Cool! So are these mods? What did these start out as? Inquiring minds want to know. I found this very detailed APEX 460 TO C12 DIY MOD. I don't know, other than the capsule, if you could use the same mod and then have Shannon do the capsule, or if the 67 mod is totally different.

I have the European version of the Apex 460. In my version, the T-Bone SCT800, it comes with the cap mod already done as far as I can see - the 2 output caps are of a much closer to "correct" value and there's noticable HF lift. I tried tube swapping and never made any definitive opinion - the distortion profile seemed to change but the headroom is huge and I'd always clip my desk or interface before the preamp of the mic would really distort. Could do with a pad, actually!
The 460's a great drum and male vocal mic. Not keen on it for female singers, I use my Oktava MK220 for them!
