Greg Fidelman has a good all around portfolio, and really nailed the Metallica sound. Bob Rock would be proud. The single definitely seems to come off more of an "intro song" than a real meat and potatoes single to me. It would serve as a good introduction to new people who are just getting into metal.
I'm certainly more *drawn* to it than Death Magnetic <snicker>.
I wonder if Mr. Fidelman has a friend here (or is a member himself) and would be able to throw down some info on how the sounds were put together?

Sounds great. I think they overdid the treble in the kick (at least through my cheap computer speakers it sounds a bit funny), but otherwise pretty rad. I listened to their older stuff a ton as a kid and this sounds pretty similar. Guitars are tight AF.

Yeah, it's no Blackened, but for an album opener it's the right kind of song. EMG 81's all day long with those guys!

They were literally the most disappointing show I've ever been to. They opened for Motley Crue and suuuuck. Crue killed it.

I started listening to metal in general between Peace sells and Rust in peace and both of those really intrigued me. I was also into much, much heavier stuff too but trash always had a place in my rotation. One of the first Megadeth shows I ever went to was in the first Countdown tour.
