Redco and Markertek are my go to suppliers, price and service wise. Sometimes, you can find bargains on amazon and ebay, but the suppliers and sources are more sketchy. I got a great deal on some 54 pair from Claire Bros, thanks to Ericn, but they are hit or miss for cable.

John, I have a tone of single pair inwall mic cable. You need 2 50t length runs? I can spool some off and ship it to you.

Yeah it's install plenum rated jacket , that's what the Mogami Marshall guys told me many many moons ago and the jacket feels like it ! I have spec'ed it in some jobs with picky Inspectors without a problem . I use it for everything except live mics ! In fact I have opened up a couple of "custom Designer high end consumer cables " with these pretty big woven jackets and found this inside! My favorite live mic cable is Canare star quad , misty due to reliability ease of roll and gaff rather than sonics. I did try Kimbers silver, Awesome sounding but I think I could swing 1 10ft if I saved for a year, have yet to try JW's fave belden!

Holy crap, that's a bit cheaper than GC's $1.22/ft Wow, I picked up 60 ft of GC's livewire to make some patch cables for 29 cents a foot. I would have bought that mogami for 33 cents a foot online had I known! GC kills it (in a bad way) on the mogami.
The guy selling it said he doesn't understand how he can sell it though, as mogami cable is supposed to never touch the air, and he's here with a pool with open ends? Maybe he doesn't know what it means, but I know I sure don't. I also try my best to stay out of snake oil territory..

100' of continuous cable, or do you need multiple sections that add up to 100'?
I have a coil of plenum rated 4 pair snake, but I don't think it's 100' total.

I've used some cheaper Gepco wire from Redco and it worked out well. I also have liked the Redco house brand stuff. Markertek gave me a great deal on some Canare cable that I use for building fuzz pedals, the shielding helps with noisier high gain circuits.

I just scored some mogami 4-pair off redco for $1.70/ft. Like 100ft worth. Now I can easily iso guitars and have complete drum iso including room mics. Of all the things to get excited about, right?

A high end mic manufacturer recommended a custom mic cable from Redco for my mic preamp, and I didn't notice anything wrong with it at all. I switched from a 15' Mogami to a 6' cable, just to de-clutter a little.
That Mogami in wall cable seems amazing at that price, I'd jump on that John.

GC is priced through the roof because it's where they make their profit after discounting the gear.
Redco and Markertek are the two real pro suppliers. I use Belden solid core Media Twist.

What do you guys recommend for some general duty bulk cable? Mostly just for making up balanced cables for patchbay/outboard gear? I'm always cannibalizing mic cables when I need to make something up but I'd like to just get some cable to have ready.

You can't go wrong with Mogami, but I've been buying Redco brand and it's good stuff. And not as expensive.

I think practically anything Redco sells is fine. If I want to get picky, I probably have ones I favor more or less, but they all work, in the end. To me the jacks and connectors are where I have a strong opinion. You don't want to compromise on those. Usually Neutrik, Switchcraft, Amphenol are some of the parts I am happy with.

Everybody should have 50-250 feet of their favorite bulk mic cable laying around just in case you need some patch, mic, or even one time use specialty cable. Adapters are also a must, it's the stupid unsexy stuff that makes all the difference in the world.
