I started with John Kenn thread in the Moan Zone over there because I was unclear about what happened, and still am, regarding John's bannination from g*********z. I miss your posts and contributions, John. I didn't interact much with you but I had planned on contacting you about some industry stuff when this occurred. There are things about g********z that make it seem like many other popular industry forums run by dictatorial acne faced pizza guzzling 400 lb 19 year old armchair quarterbacks with a cartman complex. Who knows, I may share more some time. In the meantime, it'll be a slow build here but at least there's a way to connect with you now. And as for Tony Camp...well c'mon, Tony. You were engaging in serious level-3 douchebaggery on purpose. It's like you were tempting the devil. lol Wardy, i was responding to beltmonts implied belittlement of capi vp28, he kept spouting on about something he's NEVER EVEN USED??? Why would anyone do that? It upset my sense of justice, I reacted, and maybe i over reacted, that is something you will NOT see here. edit; I didn't mention that i have a serious smart ass bone, that tends to get me in trouble, but i've had that partially removed since i came here, and BEFORE i was banned from gearslutz. BANNED, kinda makes me feel like a badass lol!! |

I just read through the moan zone thread. It didn't appear to me that Pshyco Monkey was trying to ram rod anyone. I'm not defending GS because I don't agree with many of their rules and or policies. But he even stated in one post that the net is big enough for everyone. I don't think we will have anything to worry about on this thread. It will be what we make of it and people will come in droves once the word gets out that there is a place to meet and discuss audio without the fear of pissing off a moderator and being censored.
Here's a good business model to study for those that might think GS has the market cornered. Anyone remember MySpace? Sure, they got social media started right? Then comes along FB and THEY perfected it. I couldn't tell you the last time I was on MS, but I'm on FB everyday.
It can be done if we play our cards right. Give people what they want I say, freedom from oppression. Let the gear talk begin!

Just managed to get an account working here, and frankly, I am disappointed to see this type of terminology on a new forum... I do not agree with the moderation policies on GS, which is why I left as a moderator some years ago, but seeing a new forums fill up on positive vibes, shared knowledge and forward thinking would be a nicer approach than the numerous nazi references - imho. While I wholeheartedly understand the frustration and heavy handed actions that essentially birthed this forum. I have to agree with Gustav that maybe the tone is a little *angry* for it's own good. People have their right to vent here, and that's great. I just don't want to see people feed on each others anger and blow this out of proportion.
What happened, happened and now we have a fresh forum to work with and call our own, so lets focus on the cool stuff here and let those who may have wronged people go about their lives. There really isn't anything constructive to be done by calling people names and fighting across the internet. If there is anything I've learned *about* the internet, it's that nobody ever wins an argument on the internet.
Heck, if those folks you guys are talking about wanted to join here, I'd be cool with that too, but that's how I am personally. I can't let others bring me down.

I get scums frustration, I was banished in the midst of debunking the passive aggressive attack by moderator T Belmont to marginalize the the value of the VP28, a unit the man never used or owned??? It's maddening when you have personal experience with a kit, your indirectly acquainted with, and respect the creator of said kit, recognize and appreciate how insanely good it is, and then have a know nothing MODERATOR come in and belittle it?? Seriously, WTH is that? It seems like an inside advertiser protectionism hit job to me?  That being said, i agree with the most recent posts here, this is the last time i will say gestaposlutz,...gestoposlutz!  This is a new start, i'm excited to be a part of it, and look forward to helping John get er going if i can, learning as much as i can from the best guys that were over "there" and are showing up here, and maybe I can help some other fellas along the way. It's gonna be fun! |

Wow, I never saw that but that was about the time line when it really slowed down over there with good threads. I also wondered where narcoman went.
Oh well, It has been really hard to keep posting over there because it seems newbies don't bother to read or search. I get sick of re typing the same good info over and over. John can we do something so the same thread doesn't start up again every week from some newbie who is to lazy to read. I am all for helping but they need to put some effort into it as well. There has to be some reasonable way to deal with this.

Oh, BTW we need Jim Williams here. He is a smart guy who is great at what he does. His desired sound isn't right for everything but when it is he is one of the best. He has poured out so much knowledge over the years. It would be nice to have his thoughts around here as well.

I sent an email to Jim Williams and Michael Joly (Mic Mod) and invited them to come join . I think some bad stuff happened on GS and Michael either got banned or just stopped going over there ,
This is turning into the banned form GS club .
