I have no doubt that this bundle is on of my best investments I have ever made.
Today I am mixing a piano strings vocal setup. Singer songwriter stuff.
I use the random-hall two plug ins one with 60 ms predelay one without predelay. Strings go back, piano goes back and half in the middle - LV up front with tons of verb.
Fantastic...
Since I own it I rarely touch IRs again....

Haven't actually used the Lexicon plugs. I tried UAD's 224XL, and didn't love it, but I did love the Relab LX480, which is kind of the Lexicon on steroids. Glad to hear you're happy mrholmes.

I often had trouble to make a reverb decisions in the past Lex PCM days. I always ended using hardware. To me with the PCM bundle its more easy as with all other reverb options I own (including HW). Even if you never used Lex verbs before, which is true to me because the few times I used one in studios do not count, you fast get a feel which algorithm works. They make my day easier. They should change the UI. I would love to be able to switch the basic algos in one window. I think I am in the business for another great reverb plug in. I am not sure but I think it will be the PHOENIX VERB for its clarity and width. For the rest I am covered. I own the UAD EMT 250 / 140 and Realverb. Vacumsound Poor Plate (One of the greatest free plates I know) The great free smartelectronix Ambiance. drbill What is about the Vintage Verb by Valhalla isn't that very similar to the PCM bundle??

Vintage Verb is similar, but different. Sean coded in the sound of the converters(70's, 80's, Modern) into the VVV algo's. So they tend to sit in the mix differently. Both are great, and with the price of the VVV it's definitely worth the cost ($49). It gets used as often as the Lex Native here.

Poor Plate is great, I use it all the time, and I also have the EMT-140 which I use less and less now. You have the Lex thing covered now, so I think the Phoenix verb is a great move. If I was staring over, I'd probably get that for the exact reasons you mentioned, great clarity and width. The Phoenix Verb was designed by one of Lexicon's designers I believe, but it still sounds different than the Lexi plugs I've heard. It reminded me of the Bricasti in a way, but I've only heard it briefly and may be wrong about that.

The PCM is more near to realty than the VVV. The VVV reminds me on some famous 80s tracks Underworld / Iggy Pop its more like flashy FXs but in a good way. You are right I need to have both of them.... great advise.

To me the PCM Native is a more "modern" / "clean" Lexicon sound to my ears, and the Valhalla Vintage is just that - a vintage style sound akin to the 224's, PCM70's, 480's etc. with kind of a grainy / washy sound to it. Both are cool, but if you're after retro, the VVV is your best call I think. The PCM is more versatile and the best "all-rounder".
