I probably should have asked this question before buying the upgrade, but is anyone else using 11? How are you liking it? Anything great or awful?
Thanks!

With the introduction of BFD3, I have just started using PT11. The new PT is much more efficient at CPU utilization, probably due in part to it running inside a true 64 bit environment. It's a game changer for me, since BFD3 was causing CPU overloads on PT10 on my 2012 Mac Mini. Now I see around 10% utilization in PT11. Still waiting on UA to release aax compatibility for their software though, which is a bummer.

I've got 16GB of RAM in my machine and want to take advantage of it. Basically, of my plugins, it looks like The Glue and VCC/VTM are the only ones that don't currently run 64bit AAX. I guess those will just have to take a back burner for now. Glad to hear that 11 is much more efficient.

I doubt that it's as much about 64 bits as it is that they've just moved from the oldest audio code in the industry to the newest.

I tried 11 and like it, but the lack of Slate and Massey plugs keeps me in 10 if I want to finish something. I use Slate FG-X a lot

Can you get lower buffer rates at all?

Can you get lower buffer rates at all? Yes, I am recording midi through BFD3 to PT from an Alesis DM10X kit at 128 samples. Take that away and I am at 64. I bet even 32 is possible, I just haven't tried it yet.

It would be nice to be able to keep everything at 64 and just forget about all the monitoring crap I have to do to deal with latency.

Last night I pulled PT 11 off my computer. I ended up running into so many bugs it just wasn't worth it. Back on PT 10 and running smoothly with everything. I think I am going to give it a year before I try that again. I am sure it all depends on your system as to how well the upgrade goes. I guess it's not really PT 11, it's the plugin integration. Mine was fine as long as I didn't want to use anything other than Avid plugins. The offline bounce was really nice for quick sharing after a session.

I have seen no real bugs with PT11 yet on my system, but the plugin integration thing is a big deal. All of my UAD effects are offline until UA gets their act together, which really sucks since PT11 has limited built-in effects IMHO. But for me, the performance increase has won me over. I won't be going back.

I'm still on PT 7.4 .
With an 003 you can go down to 32 Samples .
