Veteran producer Tony Visconti is apologizing to Adele for comments he made during a recent interview with a British newspaper.
“You turn the radio on and it’s fluff, you are listening to 90 percent computerized voices," Visconti told The Daily Star. "We know Adele has a great voice but it’s even questionable if that is actually her voice or how much has been manipulated. We don’t know."

Published on June 8, the story has steadily gained momentum among music news outlets and made it as far as Adele herself, who in a video posted June 9, is heard telling the crowd at Paris' AccorHotels Arena, "Some dickhead tried to say that my voice was not me on record. ... Dude, suck my dick.”
Now, in an exclusive statement to Billboard, Visconti says, "I’m sorry that what I said in regards to what’s being played on radio was misconstrued yet I cannot apologize for something taken the wrong way. If Adele has taken my comments as offensive that was certainly not my intent." Currently serving as a judge on British talent show Guitar Star, Visconti, who was David Bowie's longtime producer and also worked with T-Rex, Iggy Pop and Morrissey, adds that, "Adele has a great voice and it brings pleasure to millions."
Guitar Star, currently in its second season, premieres on June 14 on the SkyArts network. Adele is currently in the midst of a world tour which continues through November.
