I like all sorts of acoustics, like the boxy ones with personality Dan talks about, and chunky Guilds, but let's be real D-28 with scalloped bracing is an ultimate standard against which others are measured.

I'd like a small body guitar again...something really small like a 00...

A reasoned decision with little to no regret. Could this be the beginning of the end of John's GAS?

I like the way arch tops contrast with Martins a good deal - its certainly hit or miss out there, but I noticed Reverb has a bunch for sale. I suspect you can grab one for less than the Gibson, while getting something smaller with a different tonality. Hell, it might even be a Gibson. I bought my L48 for about a grand a few years ago. MJH

I made $400...if this did anything, it told me, "see, everything always works out..." Addiction is a beguiling mistress.
