Hehehe, sounds a bit like somehow simplified concept of what Rings of Saturn do. Sort of....

Yep. Can't understand the attraction in making music with vocals that sounds like I do when I've got a stomach virus, bowing down to the porcelain god.

From the Wiki on Rings of Saturn:
"Rings of Saturn performs a subgenre of extreme metal known as deathcore, which derives from metalcore and death metal. The style of deathcore that the band plays is heavily influenced by technical death metal and is characterized by very fast and technical guitar sweeps with an added harmony effect, fast tempos, ambient elements, and lyrics that deal with space invasion and extraterrestrial life."
They were in High School when the band was formed. Not that you can tell, or anything. I particularly like the "added harmony effect". I want to git me some!
Now if you want an extraterrestrial, here's an authentic one, from back in the day:

Heh. So many so quick to judge! Lots of people like that deathcore stuff. I liked some of the death metal from early in the days, mostly due to teenage rebellion and such, but you gotta admit, that playing that fast and that technical is pretty hard.
Most people who diss it do so from an emotional place instead of an objective/logical place.
Also, I also have to say that even a song made from a single note can be a good song as long as you like it. Some of you'll just have to face facts that others don't appreciate what you like as much as you don't appreciate what they like..

Svart I'm not saying I don't like metal. I do. I just don't understand or don't "get" the death metal stuff. That's fine though. I don't have a problem with others liking it. I'm just a lyricist. Love good lyrics in any genre. Oui oui oui for 3 minutes I just don't get. Metallica, Rage Against The Machine ect. Great stuff.

Well, i liked some thrash and deathmetal stuff since the nineties. E.g. some Sepultura, Entombed, Kreator, Megadeth etc. etc..
I just stumbled into Rings of Saturn a while ago and found the idea of "aliencore" and the harmonizers funny, plus, i had to admit these kids CAN play guitar and have quite an abstract musical thinking. From this aspect, since their songs are quite complex, i couldn't resist to post after this One-Note-song, LOL. Please forgive me. ROFL.

Sometimes it takes me less than 2 seconds of hearing something before i can judge wether i like it or not IMO, good music is used as a communicative expression of art and self, just like articulate, expressive language is used to communicate well. The above sounds like roid raged 3rd graders to me, if i wanted to have someone mindlessly scream and spit in my face constantly, i'd get married 8) of course, YMMV

I love death metal, and I can't stand what the bands linked above do. Those are NOT death metal.
