I haven't seen much (maybe any) positive comments on them around here.
But they don't seem to be going away, and more designs are coming on the market.
I wouldn't expect to see these much n a place with a decent room. Maybe in a pinch if you ran out of gobos?
But not all of us have that luxury.
Anybody here think these have any merit?
Cheers, Geoff

Look at the physics, foam won't absorb much at that density, the overal size limits the effect and 90% of the time it sits in the cardiod notch, ! Plus you only have this small absorber in one plane! Easy sell buy those who didn't listen in physics to those looking for cheap minimal investment in money and space! The manufacturers love them till GC introduces their private label version !

Look up the Aston review by Pro Tools expert. I swear I thought the mic sounded better without the reflection doo dad.

Mostly Satan, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. They can help out sometimes. But careful mic placement, and maybe some packing blankets on mic stands will help a lot more. Personally, I never use em.

I own one. It can be useful on a ribbon or other times when you want to take some of the room out of the sonic picture. Like anything else, it's a tool and you have to listen.
