Sale is on until July 21.
Finally caved, got the v5 suite for $160 "upgrade" price.
Collecting the freebies and donation versions for the past year definitely paid off.

I'd collected 5 freebies (Little Primal Tap, Little Radiator, etc) during giveaways and "pay-what-you-wants" (I think I donated $5 or $10 at the time) over the past year. When I log in to my account and choose "Upgrade to v5 suite" my upgrade price is $160. So I guess I actually paid $170 or thereabouts.

Does the sale price correlate to how many sound toys plugins you already own? If I own 0 sound toys plugins, how much is v5? Is it better to just buy decapitator and echoboy?
For those of you that own the v5, what do you use some of the other Soundtoys plugins on?
What are some other standout Soundtoys plugs?

If you own 0, I think the price for v5 is $399 during this sale. It goes down (significantly) depending on which you already own. If that's too pricey for you at the moment, sign up for the soundtoys newsletter and wait for their giveaways or charity drives. Then next sale you can get a big discount. The whole suite is pretty amazing, but echoboy, decapitator, and filter freq are all must haves for me after a couple of days of use.

Does anyone use any of the others besides Decap and Echoboy? Microshifter and FilterFreak seem cool, but it also seems tough to justify the €€€

Microshifter and FilterFreak seem cool, but it also seems tough to justify the €€€ Filter Freq is fantastic, just as good as Decap & Echoboy to me. Half the fun with these is loading up presets in the rack which combine instances of the different plugins - it's great.

I owned Echoboy already and grabbed all the "Little" plugins this last year or so when they were free or very cheap during the charity promotion. That gave me six plugins in total and I was just able to upgrade to the full 5 bundle for $75 during the current sale.

Those are the main three for me too. The little ones are cool sometimes, I have used Radiator a bit. DevilLoc can be neat too.
Wow, $140 for me to upgrade, almost irresistible! I got the free ones during the charity thing thanks to RGO, now this.

I downloaded the Soundtoys 5 demo, as I've never tried Soundtoys before.
It's an interesting bundle for $350.
After a few days I decided I would virtually never use Phase Mistress and Chrystalizer as I'm not really into sound design stuff - but they are fantastic plugins capable of some serious sound manipulation!
PanMan and Tremolo are also amazing - although again not plugins I'd ever really use in my music.
That left me with Echoboy (mainly) but as I have ALL the UAD modelled delays, choruses and reverbs, it felt like a huge overlap, although again Echoboy is a first class plugin.
The odd thing is someone told me to also demo the Eventide stuff as an alternative, and so I ended up demoing at the same time their H910 and H3000 Factory, which I have been completely blown away by and seem completely different to anything I already have so I've ended up buying a some harmonizer plugins.
For some odd reason Eventide had passed me by but that H910 and H3000 plugins have patches that make you go "oh that's a sound from that record and that's the sound from that record" which might not be a good thing in some ways! Learing to program the H3000 looks like a very steep learing curve!

After logging into my account on the ST website it told me I could upgrade to 5 for only $125. What a deal. Except I already own 5. Even shows that under my licenses. Maybe their web software needs upgrading.....

Learing to program the H3000 looks like a very steep learing curve! Yes I agree with you, I feel if I purchase the whole bundle for the sale price, I probably would only use a few of the plugs. I wonder if they have custom bundle like a fabfilter offers? Idk, I want to add echoboy and decapitator to my arsenal, maybe pan man, but again feel like i have some other plugs that do similar duties. Decisions, decisions the Eventide channel is amazing IMO !
