So I've seen a number of local small/project studios produce "informational" type videos promising secret information, only to turn out to be advertisements for their studio.
They go much like:
"How to get the best drum sound from your bedroom!"
And during the video it's more like:
"We've figured out how to get the best sound from our bedroom by using the best mics and the best preamps in conjunction with taking the time to figure out the best position in the room!"
Which really translates to:
"We bought a drum mic kit on sale at GC, we use the preamps in out interface we also bought at GC on sale, and we put the drums in the corner because the bed was in the way".
Yeah, that might be a little embellishment on my part, but the general idea is the same, that the video doesn't go into any real details, but steers the viewer into an advertisement.
I've seen tons of these things popping up lately. Are you guys seeing these in your areas?

I've been seeing links to articles titled similarly, then you click the link, it brings you to a site, and they want you to buy the article, or sign up for a training course, or whatever. Bunch of junk.

The manager of Leo's Pro Audio where Quicksilver and the Dead bought everything told me that one when I told him I was probably moving to Nashville.

Old saying: Those who can do. Those who can't teach. Those who can't even teach sell... Yeah at 53 (living in the UK London as a professional musician) I've created my own saying.
Those who can do.
Those who teach eat!
