As someone who already owns this eq, I wondered how slate would handle releasing it as part of his subscription service. To his credit, it seems Slate is letting owners get the new module at no charge to run inside of slate vmr: that works ! yup just downloaded , installed and opened ilok manager to reinitialize my old license : worked fine ! ![](//storage.proboards.com/5388330/thumbnailer/x6MjrD92Wgqhpg3jgk4I.png)

Air Eq is the best digital ( meaning no emulation of saturation etc.) I've heard. These new modules should sound excellent.

Slate is making a really good package. As much as the hyperbole annoys me, Having the VMR and the majority of its contents is really nice. I mostly prefer the UA plugs over the Slate offerings - the 1176s, tape plugs, verbs...but as far as EQ - I mean, really...who the hell can tell a difference...I still find myself reaching for Fabfilter and UA plugs...but these are nice options to have.

If I was just starting out be hard not to buy slate subscription, it takes a number of years to break through the sweet spot subscription vs buy price point and as slate keeps adding plugs that point moves out into the future offset by the sensible realization that no ones needs a never ending supply fo plugs to do good work.

Agreed. 1 year of Slate everything is the same cost as a single regular price UA or Softube plug. Seems like a great option for newcomers.

And now that the 480 is part of the $25 month plan it really really looks good as a guy who isn't a big plugin person.
