Man I was thinking the exact same thing as I read it! The subject of the price of an M50 aluminum capsule, the holy grail of Classical recording mics, with a bunch of idiots of have no idea of the rarity and special nature of this tool is mind blowing! Yeah this mic would be wasted on what 99% of us do but for those who are recording instruments valued sometimes in the millions what's $16k! But hey you can get the same results with a pair of KM184s! NOT!

Call me the cynical former gear pimp (JK can I change my senior member tag) Threads like this always make me wonder if it's a shill to sell the item in question? I mean come on If your thinking M50 you know you need 2, they should be matched... But you know if it's on GS somebody is going to PM " if you don't grab it can you give me the sellers info..." I mean if your going to buy a mic that costs more than a used car are a bunch of idiots who really could be 15 year olds beating off to naked M7's really going to influence you? If so should you be allowed to buy an M50? We need a Audio police force!

Not sure I see the problem. I see just as much BS on "other" forums you know and love - if not more. There's a lot of useful info on that thread. EXPECIALLY the part where I mentioned I have a scoring engineer buddy who is selling 4 sets of M50's. Yeah, lots of $$$, but if you need em, you've probably been looking for over a decade. Some have been looking longer. Someone will buy them, but they ain't cheap. I think undoubtably the most rare of the rare and pricey of the pricey and worth every penny if you need em.

I think the problem is for every post by one of the 5 guys who knows what an m50 is there is a post by someone who has no idea and acts like they are the expert, plus it seams like the facts of the M50 need to be repeated for the masses ( needless to say I include you in those who knows what an m50 is) Now what I want to know what was the FET circuit DECCA used in their mics?

Seems pretty obvious who is who to me. No? Who (other than the OP who seems to be clueless with too much money) is clueless?
I'm more perturbed about the abuse of the word "summing" - and it's NOT forum specific. No one (an exaggeration, but sometimes it seems that way) seems to even understand what "sum" (addition) means.... LOL
