I'm starting up a cover band project with a couple friends to make a little extra cash and have some fun. So far we're learning
Genesis- No son of mine, Home by the sea,.
Phil Collins- In the air tonight, Easy Lover.
Police- Ghost in the machine.
Rush- Subdivisions.
What are some other good bands that could fit into this project? (from a listeners perspective)

Hell, Mo anything from the 80's. Simply Red, Journey, Steve Winwood. 40 somethings love that shit. There is a local 80's band here in Cincy that packs every venue they play. Hell, they are so popular, they play at Cincinnati Reds games. The name of the band is The Rusty Griswold's. Fitting.
I can offer you a name for a band that I always wanted to use for an 80's band. The Flux Capacitors. Ha!

Some good choices there, Sledgehammer by Gabriel is a decent groove. I like Genesis more and more every day! I never paid attention to them during their big years.

Nik Kershaw...wouldn't it be good ( awesome tune!!) Nik Kershaw has a lot of amazing stuff out there, great pop songs. 'Wouldn't it be good' is indeed awesome, one of my favorite all-time tracks. Check out the Radio Musicola album. Good songwriter and singer. |
