All you guys using mac mini ' s, what track counts and buffer size are you able to do at once.
Still fighting an odd issue, trying to figure it out some more. I have done 3 different osx installs on 3 different SSD'S and I get almost the same result. Record stops after CPU overload on simultaneous record of 16 tracks at 64 sample buffer using a Motu 16a. I have read reports of guys doing 64 tracks or more at 64 buffer on the same machine.
Now I have worked on it and have gotten it to 32 tracks at 64 buffer but it's pretty cazy and not something that I would want to rely on during a session. One record pass it's fine then the next it overloads.
What are you guys experiencing?

I have same set up Mac mini , Motu 16a and recorded a live show 48/24 128 buffer 16 tracks at once . But I had all kinds of strange issues with display , PT crashes, Motu not mapping ,operating system crash. Just nothing seem related to anything finally switched my external hard drive enclosure to a new usb3 enclosure and not a single issue since Probably doesn't help you but this is my experience

I use a 2.6ghz 2012 mac mini with 16gb ram and a motu 16a. I regularly run 18 tracks at 96khz at 128 buffer with no problems during record or playback.

I am stable at 128 up to 32 tracks. It's just odd to me that people claim to be able to record at 32 and 64 without an issue. The second I put PT into 64 buffer the cpu meter starts bouncing around and eventually peeks out and dumps the recording.
