Does anyone know how to do the output mod adding a pot to the output for matched stereo use? I might be able to get a pair used for a good price but sending them to zenproaudio would greatly reduce the good deal.
Thanks!

I'd like to put output knobs on my pair also. No puns needed.

A 100k log pot wired like this should do the trick. Just wire pin 1 to ground and the +/- to 2 and 3.

They don't have an internal trim for that? Are they that loose in gain tolerance? This is supposed to be a unity gain device.

Thanks jeromemason!
It seems like most are within 1 DB but I have heard of there being as much as a 6db difference. I'd really like to use them on mix buss so they need to be pretty darn close.

A 6dB difference is most likely a connection problem. Theres no tube circuit on eath that would have a 6dB variance.

This has been discussed at length on the GS thread, with Bryce chiming in too. You can just get a matched pair of tubes and your gains will match (or so it's been said). Also people chiming in that their original Pultecs also varied a lot in output and the mixbus duties were always a bit of a trick because of it.
Just getting a factory matched set of tubes seems like by far the easiest way to go.
I didn't even do that, I just went through some tubes until I found two that were close and I print mixes through them all the time. They sound amazing on the 2 bus.
