It seems they went bare bones=summing with benefits type approach, probably a very good idea, i also wonder about the price point?

Pardon my stupidity, but the pres are built in to the box and then you can add EQ/compressors?

I wonder if they still do the custom consoles they used to have on the old website. They looked great.

Pardon my stupidity, but the pres are built in to the box and then you can add EQ/compressors? it looks to me like a couple 500 racks in series, you should be able to configure as you see fit? I wonder what the summing section comprises of? Steiger!!!!!

I like this very much. I read something like $2500 for the summing, $1000 for faders, $700 for the Meters.

Not bad, what the summing section comprises of is a HUGE deal? does that price include the console chassis? so far thats $4,200+ 2-500 series rack cases, +20 rack spaces to fill should come out around.. $22,000 to 23,000...w/out the chassis? mehh...

also, i'm wondering the connectivity? those 500 boxes look like "stand alone" slide in units, would we be required to cable connect everything together with xlr whips?

So how do you use a Pre, EQ and compressor on one channel?

For whatever it's worth, I doubt whatever is in that summing section sounds better than a Nicerizer or Tonebuss. I'll take The Box over this. Still hoping Capi is awesome.

This is what one of the purple audio guys wrote on the purple site. "There is now a page up on the site, slide up tomorrow. MFtwenty5 1-RU Mixer The Moiyn, Dex and pair of Cans were in the setup for ease of demo sake. Should be 10 eq over 10 comp or 10 pre over 10 eq/comp or 20 eq /comp in vertical pairs L/R for stem mode. I think the other questions will be clear from the page and as we add content about optional mono/stereo faders and meter unit it will make more sense. Target ship is january, target pricing is $2500 for 1RU, Mono fader pack - $1000, stereo fader pack $2000, meter box $700. Should work out about that. I don't understand how you would use the moiyn and MFtweny5 but that doesn't mean you can't do it. I learned new uses from potential clients at the show. I hadn't seen it as add 10 stereo FX returns to a console but, that that would work, with or without fader packs. The sweet tens don't need to used for the MFtwenty5, you can use any 500 rack or modules for inputs, really you don't need 500 modules to use it, hook your daw up to the rear D-subs and you will get a 20x2 in 1RU. Meter unit has 4 DSUB 1, 1-22 unbalanced input for use with the MF-25, Buffered in the MFtwenty5 as I was out of space. 2,3,4 balanced D25 in standard pinout in stacked mult connectors, 100K balanced input impedance means you can pass through on mult to or from DAW or something else. Only bummer is 22 meter, not 24, designed for the MFtwenty5 20 inputs, 2 buss, and really I don't fit anymore, very dense double sided SMT pic controllers w custom software drives LED. I put some pictures on some of that on the purple audio facebook page a while back, someone posted a tom waits song in response " www.facebook.com/pages/Purpl...19390978077592

Think you can use whatever you want on each channel. Any 500 series chassis with different modules.
Think its pretty cool

Wow, I just flashed to cable costs....really, they're giving you audio faders (can I assume with a summing buss/amp?)...and meters--all patched into their 10space racks on the back. That's what it looks like. Roll your own, for sure. Can you imagine the trouble shooting? "Why is the EQ on CH5 crackling? Somebody get up under it...."
That's the kind of thing you can already DO...to a large extent. Plus those kinds of meters aren't...what I'd want. Pretty, yes...but, functionally, you might as well use the digital ballistics.

Only reason for the link was because Andrew from purple audio answered plenty of questions regarding the mixer. Pretty good info.
